About This Treatment
A Brazilian wax removes all or nearly all hair from the pubic region — front, back, and everything in between — leaving you smooth for 2–6 weeks. At Bare Cat we use premium sensitive hard wax made with aloe vera for the entire service. Hard wax grips the hair, not the skin, and is removed without a cloth strip — making it significantly more comfortable than soft wax on this sensitive area. The room is completely private, the environment is professional, and your comfort is our constant priority.
How It Works
Consultation
We briefly discuss your preference — fully bare, or leaving a small landing strip. There's no wrong answer, and you can change your mind at any time.
Preparation
You'll be provided with baby wipes to clean yourself. Then I will cleansed the area and apply corn starch if needed.
Hard wax application
Warm hard wax is applied in sections. It sets within seconds as it cools. Your esthetician will occasionally ask you to assist with repositioning for the most complete coverage.
Removal
Each section is removed with a quick, decisive pull. Hard wax comes off cleanly without a cloth strip. Multiple passes ensure thoroughness.
Tweezing
Any stray hairs are removed with tweezers.
Ingrown hair removal
If there are ingrown hairs or black heads, They will be removed to prevent or stop any discomfort.
Soothing finish
After-wax oil removes any residual wax and calms the skin. Aloe Vera with tea tree oil is applied to reduce redness and discourage ingrown hairs.
What You Can Expect
Before Your Visit
- Hair should be at least ¼ inch (6 mm) long — roughly the length of a grain of rice.
- Exfoliate with a dry brush every day for 3 days before your appointment to reduce ingrown hairs.
- Avoid retinol, AHA/BHA acids, and Accutane for at least 5 days before waxing — these thin the skin.
- Skip sunbathing, tanning beds, and sun exposure 48 hours before.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing to avoid friction on freshly waxed skin.
- If you’re on your period at the time of your appointment, we kindly ask that you wear a tampon to ensure comfort and maintain a clean, safe environment during your service.
After Your Visit
- Avoid touching the waxed area with unwashed hands for 24 hours.
- No heat — hot showers, saunas, or exercise that causes heavy sweating for 24 hours (open follicles are vulnerable to bacteria).
- No sun exposure or tanning for 48 hours — freshly waxed skin burns more easily.
- Begin dry brushing 3 days after waxing, 2–3 times per week, to prevent ingrown hairs.
- Please avoid all sexual activity for 24 hours after your wax, including oral sex. This helps prevent irritation and reduces the risk of infection.
