About This Treatment
Dermaplaning uses a sterile, surgical-grade blade held at a precise 45-degree angle to gently remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair ("peach fuzz") from the face. The result is immediately visible — an extraordinary smoothness and brightness that makes skin look airbrushed. Dermaplaning also creates an optimal surface for serum and product absorption, making it an excellent companion to any facial treatment.
How It Works
Cleanse
Skin is thoroughly cleansed.
Dermaplaning
Using light, feathering strokes, the sterile blade is drawn across the skin at a 45-degree angle. Your esthetician works in sections across the face, removing dead cells and fine hairs. Sensation: similar to being gently shaved — no pain, slight scraping sound.
Serum application
Immediately after dermaplaning, skin is in peak condition for product absorption. A targeted serum is applied — it penetrates deeper than on unprepared skin.
Mask & finish
A calming or treatment mask is applied, I recommend adding on a jelly mask for extra hydration. followed by your regular facial conclusion — moisturizer and SPF. You leave with visibly smoother, brighter skin.
What You Can Expect
Before Your Visit
- No special preparation required for most add-ons.
- If you are booked for a chemical peel, avoid retinol and AHAs for 5 days prior.
- Avoid waxing the face within 1 week of dermaplane unless I am doing it at your service.
After Your Visit
- Avoid the sun for 3 days. Wear SPF, even if indoors.
- After microdermabrasion or chemical peel, avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours and apply SPF 30+ daily.
- After LED light therapy, no special aftercare is needed — skin is unaffected externally.
